MOLE PROJECT JUST HOW BIG IS A MOLE?
Your task is to produce one analogy to help others understand just how large the number 6.02 x 10 23 really is. You must use comparison numbers that are a manageable size. You must include any assumptions or definitions that you made in order to make you calculations. You must include the work for your solution complete with unit labels.
formatting guidelines:
Ø 10 x 13 paper ( I have a supply if you want yellow)
Ø Extremely neatly written or typed and glued to your paper.
Ø Neatness and spelling are important. Must be easy to read.
Ø Title at the top in bold print and significantly larger font.
Subtitle if you wish, smaller font.
Ø Comparison sentence in large font. It is a statement not a question.
Ø Assumptions and calculations presented below in smaller print as a bulleted list.
Ø Calculations in dimensional analysis format complete with units.
Ø Name and number in the lower right hand corner.
These examples are presented to illustrate how the project should be done:
· Assume 6.5 billion people in the world
· No adjustments made for any variation in the number due to birth or death rates.

1 round trip = 5.0 x 10 5 miles
v Assume 100 bills = 0.25 inch à $ 400,000 per inch of $1000 bills
6.02 x 10 23 dol / 1 in /1 round trip / 1 mi /1 ft = 47.5 million trips
