Research an
element and design a brochure that will describe your element.

Be
creative in drawing your element with its correct numbers of protons, neutrons
and placement of electrons.
Ø
Give
its electron configuration, valence electrons, dot diagram and the ions it can
form.
Ø
Describe
features of the element such as melting point, boiling/freezing points.
Ø
Include
who discovered it, when it was discovered and under what circumstances, if
known.
Ø
Have a
section for the uses for the element in its pure form.
Ø
Have
another section for common compounds it forms.
Ø
Include
the cost of the element to buy it.
Ø
Use
pictures, diagrams.
Ø
Use a
piece of paper and fold it into thirds.

scale:

A
- clearly written, well organized
brochure. Has pictures, drawings and all necessary
information. Other people would want to
pick it up to read. Shows a lot of
interest and effort put into the project
B - Generally well written brochure but does
not include all the information and is less attractive.
C- Poorly written
brochure without appropriate information/pictures. Not organized. Little effort put into the task.
